Nike+ Basketball & Training

In 2010, Nike created a new business division called Digital Sport, with the mission of developing a sport tracking ecosystem to help consumers quantify and make sport a daily habit.

I was brought in to the Digital Sport group to lead the product and experience for Nike+ Basketball and Training. By integrating hardware and software into footwear, we were able to track activity metrics with accuracy and turn them into an innovative experience that quantified sport like never before. Nike+ Basketball and Training was the biggest and most complex innovation to be undertaken at Nike launching as the pinnacle story during the 2012 London Olympics.

Nike+ Basketball

To help basketball players improve their performance, we created an experience where every time you laced your Hyperdunk+, you would be able to track how hard, how quick and how high you jumped in every practice or game.

Nike+ Training

To help the everyday athlete train anytime and anywhere, we developed authentic training programs in partnership with elite athletes based on their respective sport. Consumers could select a training pack and/or a drill to train every day of the week. Their shoes tracked each movement and repetition, allowing them to see their progress and compete with others in their community.

Key athletes: Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, Allison Felix, Larry Fitzgerald Manny Pacquiao, Hope Solo
